What motivated JLM to launch a heavy-duty range?
“In one word –demand,” explains JLM CEO Gilbert Groot. “Many JLM distributors are looking to establish a strong foothold in this sector because of the requests for HD products from their customers – technicians and stockists. We have already gained valuable market share in the HD sector with our Heavy-Duty DPF Cleaner which is saving fleet owners substantial sums compared to replacing a DPF. The DPF can be cleaned on the vehicle which is a massive plus in reducing downtime and it keeps the business in the workshop which is especially welcome if the fleet is maintained by the business. So, it made sense to say yes and roll out with three further products that are global bestsellers and that are perfect for this market – when used on a standalone basis and when used as complementary additives during vehicle servicing. This is set against a global hike in the price of fuel leading to an increase in HD vehicle running costs. So, it is easy enough to see the need for a product range that will keep those wagons rolling, cut workshop repair bills and slash vehicle down time. Every hour not to mention every day that a HD vehicle is off the road presents a logistical challenge to the owner or fleet manager coupled with a hit on the bottom line that’s not helped by mounting workshop costs. The JLM HD range includes Engine Oil Flush, Fuel Injection System Cleaner and Diesel Extreme Clean. “These are already bestselling products in our existing range,” says Gilbert. “We have simply increased the quantity to make them suitable for heavy duty vehicles ranging from a truck to a tractor and a school bus.”
