Brake fluid is an essential and increasingly important element in vehicles. At the same time, driving assistance systems such as ABS and ESP are becoming increasingly complex and critical. This makes the task of brake fluid more important than ever. JLM DOT 4 aftermarket brake fluid and clutch fluid meet the highest quality requirements set by the automotive industry for products.
Product information
Because of the ingredients that make up brake fluid, the fluid attracts water, which could cause the fluid to boil during braking. This causes air bubbles in the braking system and reduces the braking effect drastically. Brake fluid has had a boiling point of approximately 230 degrees Celsius for many years. However, automotive manufacturers are increasingly switching to brake fluid with a safer boiling point of 260 degrees.
For instance, JLM DOT 4. A premium aftermarket brake and clutch fluid for the hydraulic brake systems and clutch systems of all passenger cars, vans and motorcycles, for which the manufacturer prescribes synthetic (non-petroleum based) fluids.*
JLM DOT 4 fluid exceeds the current international U.S. FMVSS No. 116 DOT 4 & DOT 3, SAE J1703 & 1704 and ISO (Classes 3 & 4) specifications. JLM DOT 4 brake fluid and clutch fluid is available in half litre packaging (J04840) and litre packaging (J04845). JLM DOT 4 can be mixed with other brake fluids that meet these specifications.
HOW TO USE
Always respect the car manufacturer’s instructions when changing brake fluid. Keep brake fluid clean and dry. Dirt, moisture, petroleum products and other materials can result in a defective braking system or costly repairs. Only store brake fluid in the original packaging, keeping the packaging clean and tightly closed to prevent water penetration
Please note: Do not refill used brake fluid containers and do not use these containers for other fluids. Dispose of used brake fluid responsibly (EU waste code 160113). Brake fluid affects the paint, so immediately remove with plenty of water in the event of a spill.
* JLM DOT 4 brake fluid and clutch fluid is not suitable for vehicles with mineral fluid systems, such as Citroën. When changing the fluid, always refer to the manufacturer’s information for the specifications.
